Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer October 14, 2008
I bought this with the hope it would be easy to use, it is. I really like this pedometer and find I try to walk more steps each day. I would recommend it.

At first this seemed like a great pedometer but I started noticing that it would randomly stop keeping a step count and then start up again so I was never really sure what my actual step count was each day (this was within the first week). Then it just completely stopped giving me a count at all, although it seems to still be functioning as far as toggling between steps, aerobic steps, cal, miles (it just doesn't count anything anymore). I thought if I spent a little more on a pedometer, I would have a better product but this one didn't last a fraction of the time that the "cheap" ones given out at my work did. I wouldn't recommend this product.

For ON THE GO people October 12, 2008
This was recommended by a nutritionist because I was starting an exercise routine--esp. doing walking. The Omron HJ-112 is great. It not only shows how many steps you take, but also how many of those are "aerobic" steps. Also shows calories burned and miles walked. Easy to use--instructions for calibrating steps and setting it all up are pretty simple. Additional perks--it can be put in a coat pocket or in a purse or handbag, not just clipped onto waist or outside of pocket AND it holds each day's info. for up to a week. I use it all the time now!

A pedometer that does what it is supposed to do... imagine that! October 12, 2008
Okay, you want to improve your health. Everyone seems to be talking about walking as the most underrated form of aerobic exercise. There are offers by companies and health departments to give you a free or inexpensive pedometer to encourage you to walk.br /br /Those free or inexpensive pedometers? Turn all of these offers down.br /br /Pedometers are supposed to measure your steps. These cheap ones have exaggerated steps, undercounted steps, variable steps, and so on. They are not worth the carbon credits to manufacture.br /br /You need something that will work. Something dependable. Something accurate.br /br /You need an Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer, with the safety strap and holder.br /br /The Omron HJ-112 is easy to set up and personalize. You need to calibrate it to your stride. Then... it's off to the races you go! You get an accurate count of steps for the day. By the way, it doesn't pick up my pedaling when I bike to work. And when I jog/run (about 7 mph), it records 3 miles as 2 miles (because of my lengthened stride).br /br /The Omron HJ-112 records number of steps, aerobic steps (walking at 1 step/sec or faster for at least 10 minutes), and calories burned (I don't really pay attention to this last category). It also gives you a 7 day memory for each category.br /br /The holder clips to your belt or waistband, but is only partially reliable. You must use the safety strap if you don't want to lose it! I repeat... USE THE SAFETY STRAP AT ALL TIMES!br /br /I'm told the batteries last about 6 months. I'm not there yet.br /br /If you want an accurate and reliable pedometer, try the Omron HJ-112.

Easy to use! October 12, 2008
This is the best pedometer I've ever had. It's so easy to use and it's reliable and dependable! I love the way it distinguishes the total amount of steps for the day, from the total amount of aerobic steps. Also, it shows calories burned and overall miles walked per day. One of my favorite features however, is that it automatically reprograms itself to begin a new day at midnight, AND the fact that it stores your totals in each category for up to 7 days! After I used mine for a week, my mother wanted one, as well. I ordered one for her and she uses hers daily, too. This would make a great holiday gift!
