Product Description
The project that captured a nation's imagination.

The instructions were simple, but the results were extraordinary.

"You are invited to anonymously contribute a secret to a group art project. Your secret can be a regret, fear, betrayal, desire, confession, or childhood humiliation. Reveal anything -- as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone before. Be brief. Be legible. Be creative."

It all began with an idea Frank Warren had for a community art project. He began handing out postcards to strangers and leaving them in public places -- asking people to write down a secret they had never told anyone and mail it to him, anonymously.

The response was overwhelming. The secrets were both provocative and profound, and the cards themselves were works of art -- carefully and creatively constructed by hand. Addictively compelling, the cards reveal our deepest fears, desires, regrets, and obsessions. Frank calls them "graphic haiku," beautiful, elegant, and small in structure but powerfully emotional.

As Frank began posting the cards on his website, PostSecret took on a life of its own, becoming much more than a simple art project. It has grown into a global phenomenon, exposing our individual aspirations, fantasies, and frailties -- our common humanity.

Every day dozens of postcards still make their way to Frank, with postmarks from around the world, touching on every aspect of human experience. This extraordinary collection brings together the most powerful, personal, and beautifully intimate secrets Frank Warren has received -- and brilliantly illuminates that human emotions can be unique and universal at the same time.

4 out of 5 stars Thought provoking, sad and funny.   June 27, 2010
Rashmi Nayak (Sunnyvale, Ca)
Like it promised, as I perused through the book, I could not put it down till it was done. If I had to describe it , one word comes to mind "Beautiful". Each postcard told a story of its own, and there were many I could relate to at many levels. A good buy, I am pretty sure I will pick it up from time to time, and find something new in there.

Like many reviewers have said this before, it is unique, and it was something, that I am sure many people can relate to and feel " I am not that different after all"

I wanted to have something on my coffee table- living room, that could start a conversation- I am pretty sure it will.

4 out of 5 stars Good Coffee Table Book   June 11, 2010
Stephanie Epps (USA)
I bought this book because I wanted some conversation starter-type books for my coffee table. Its fun to open it up and read the different postcards and discuss them with friends. I recommend for a light read or a unique conversation starter at parties.

5 out of 5 stars loved it!   June 7, 2010
Nikk Nikk (Brooklyn, New York)
I am a very emotional person and founbd this book helped me coped w/ past exp. I seem to hold over head. The stories are so vivid and explicit. At times morbid of overall I felt like the elephant that had been sitting on my chest all of these years finally got off.

5 out of 5 stars Thought provoking   March 14, 2010
SHR (Melbourne, Australia)
I loved reading other people's secrets and was amazed by how many emotions the random statements evoked.
The secrets made me feel sadness, humour, pity, despair, disbelief and revulsion (the wife that puts boogers in her husband's soup when she is pissed off with him); as well as making me recognize myself and ponder my own untold secrets and the freedom of letting them go anonymously.
I love the idea of gaining control over something by making it concrete and putting it outside of yourself.
I think it is an absolutely wonderful and insightful project.

5 out of 5 stars Book Review by V Sanderson   February 8, 2010
Vicki Sanderson (Greer, SC USA)
I absolutely adored this book! I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me. I recommend this and other Frank Warren books to anyone that needs a small dose of humility.
