Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
DIVP style="MARGIN: 0pt"Now in a significantly revised and expanded second edition, this groundbreaking work illuminates how racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression constrain the lives of diverse clients--and family therapy itself. Practitioners and students gain vital tools for reevaluating prevailing conceptions of family health and pathology; tapping into clients' cultural resources; and developing more inclusive theories and therapeutic practices. From leaders in the field, the second edition features many new chapters, case examples, and specific recommendations for culturally competent assessment, treatment, and clinical training. The section in which authors reflect on their own cultural and family legacies also has been significantly expanded. /PP style="MARGIN: 0pt" /PP style="MARGIN: 0pt"BNew in This Edition/B/PP style="MARGIN: 0pt"*20 entirely new chapters./PP style="MARGIN: 0pt"*McGoldrick is now joined by Kenneth V. Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great book!   September 17, 2008
This is a great book, and covers family therapy from the multicultural perspective. The narratives McGoldrick gives of her life are great insight and cause us to ponder how we may or may not think in similar ways - excellent text!
