1 out of 5 stars useless rip-off   January 7, 2004

this is total waste of money, there is no need to spend ~$40 in order to use website (where btw you do not need the code). it does not add educational value (as the website itself) - any other statistics book is better than this...

1 out of 5 stars Skip this absolute rip-off   October 7, 2003

This is perhaps the most overpriced book in history. Your $40+ buys you nothing. The handbook is near worthless, and the online password that it comes with isn't even necessary. Just go to seeingstatistics dot com and you'll see for yourself that purchasing this book adds no value. Beyond that the website is incomplete and quite sparse.brDon't get burned, skip this one.

5 out of 5 stars excellent secondary resource for the UK   February 2, 2001

It's good to see a subject which so benefits from advances in technology getting such excellent treatment. The interaction is simple to use and works well in front of a class on a smart board or on individual machines.

5 out of 5 stars This is the way to understand statistics.   March 30, 2000

This approach is exactly right, for it gives the learner the ability to play with the concepts. Statistics has traditionally forced people to grapple with the unusual vocabulary (greek letters etc.) and connect them with the ideas, which one had to animate in one's mind. Active engagement depended on constructing graphs in private so you could finally get what was being talked about. In contrast, the interactive graphic illustrations in this electronic book let you see the concepts and how they work by changing them with your own hands. This increases your feeling of engagement, and speeds up your understanding of the concepts.
