Product Description

"The one thing, on which we can all agree, is that God is with the vulnerable and poor. God is in the slums and in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them. 6,500 Africans are still dying every day of a preventable, treatable disease, for lack of drugs we can buy at any drug store. This is not about charity, this is about Justice and Equality." --Bono

This small book, based upon the speech given by Bono at the 2006 NPB, delivers an inspiring and powerful message. Here, in Bono's own words, is a reflection on his own faith and a challenge to people of all faiths to reach across boundaries and come together on behalf of what the Scriptures call "the least of these."

5 out of 5 stars Great   October 10, 2009
Margaret Marsick (Auckland, New Zealand)
This is a great resource for school. I bought the book keeping in mind my unit on Speeches. I have so many other examples of famous speeches, but I thought having this impassioned, recent speech would be (an is)a great asset.
Students can identify with Bono, so that in itself sends out a deeper message, I feel.

5 out of 5 stars Review of "On The Move"   September 19, 2009
T. Pullum (Middletown, OH)
I had seen the book before but for whatever reason had not purchased it. It contains the entire speech that Bono gave at The National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC in '06. The photos are the ones he & Ali took during their mission trip to Ethiopia prior to the making of The Joshua Tree. For any die hard U2 fan, it is a must have in your collection.

5 out of 5 stars Bono Writes a Book   January 30, 2009
Pleased with my Purchase (North Carolina)
Well, of course I am a U2 fan. I think that would be a big reason I bought this book. After reading it and seeing the pictures, I am more of a Bono fan than I thought possible. The man truly can see things in a way that puts a bit of magic in everything. Not just songs...

Read this and learn more about what life is really about.

1 out of 5 stars A picture book with redundancy amuck   January 13, 2009

Basically this is a picture book that wants you to give money, and has a redundant "story" written both along with pictures and then text alone. I would only recommend this to the hardest core Bono fans.

5 out of 5 stars One Voice   January 6, 2009

On the Move is short and brief but the written words are so powerful that it moved congress and even president Bush. Bono used poetic words for his crusade in aiding Africa and he had the opportunity to present it to most powerful men in the United States at breakfast. Not only did he speak from his heart but it was simply one voice representing a poverish continent asking so little of the Americans poeple in order to change million of lives with fresh water and medicines. I truly reccommend this book, not only will you reflect on his speech but I hope that his words will move you to make a difference.
