5 out of 5 stars A Must For Fathers   May 14, 2008

This is the most practical and realistic book on fathering that I have read. And Dr. Lawson is very qualified to write such a book having raised four children.br /br /Like Dr. Lawson's preaching, the book comes straight from the scriptures. His main text is Ephesians 6:4: "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."br /br /"...if you died today, what would your children remember you for? What would be your legacy to them? ... A financial legacy doesn't last. Neither can it bring happiness - not true happiness. Jesus said life does not consist in the possessions we own, nor in the things we have. Instead, I want to point you toward a different kind of legacy. One that money cannot buy and taxes cannot take away. One which is intangible, invisible, and eternal. One far more valuable than silver or gold. I'm talking about a spiritual legacy, one that will truly enrich our children's lives, mold their character, and impact their eternal destiny. A godly legacy is the only legacy really worth leaving."br /br /If you are a father I would not only recommend this book but say that you must read it.br /

Fathers have a tremendous responsibility in the home and Steve Lawson equips them to not only to be successful, but to pass on a powerful legacy. This book needs to be read by every father. Read it for youself, read it for your wife and read it for your children. Children today are screaming for fathers to leave them a leacy. This book is a great place to start.
