Product Description
Autism is an epidemic: It has spiked 1,500 percent in the last twenty years. ADHD, asthma and allergies have also skyrocketed over the same time period. One of these conditions now strikes one in every three children in America. But there is hope. Leading medical innovator Kenneth Bock, M.D., has helped change the lives of more than a thousand children, and in this important book, with a comprehensive program that targets all four of the 4-A disorders, he offers help to children everywhere. This is the book that finally puts hope within reach.brbrDoctors have generally overlooked the connections among the 4-A disorders, despite their concurrent rise and the presence of many medical clues. For years the medical establishment has considered autism medically untreatable and utterly incurable, and has limited ADHD treatment mainly to symptom suppression. Dr. Bock and his colleagues, however, have discovered a solution #8211; one that goes to the root of the problem. They have found that deadly modern toxins, nutritional deficiencies, metabolic imbalances, genetic vulnerabilities and assaults on the immune and gastrointestinal systems trigger most of the symptoms of the 4-A disorders, resulting in frequent misdiagnosis and untold misery.brbrDr. Bock#8217;s remarkable Healing Program, drawing on medical research and based on years of clinical success, offers a safe, sensible solution that is individualized to each child to help remedy these root causes. The biomedical approach to autism, ADHD, and the other 4-A epidemics, as innovated by Dr. Bock and some of America#8217;s finest integrative physicians, is one of the most promising and exciting medical movements of our time.br brIn this eminently readable account, written by Dr. Bock in collaboration with critically acclaimed author Cameron Stauth, you will meet children and parents whose dramatic stories will inspire you to change the life of your own child. This program may be the help that you have been praying for.brbrbriFrom the Hardcover edition./i

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous   December 27, 2008
I was able to improve my son's asthma within a few weeks of implementing these steps, after a year of failed medical interventions. Thanks so much!

5 out of 5 stars the first step   November 25, 2008

This book was the first I read when my then two-year-old son was diagnosed with autism in July 2007. I guess I just got lucky and picked this one out at the bookstore. It is the very best place to start as a parent when your child gets an autism diagnosis. It offers both hope and solutions that your child can indeed be healed. My son is now a three year old who is NOT on the autism spectrum any more, he has recovered from autism. DAN! works, and Dr. Bock is as good as it gets.

5 out of 5 stars Healing the New Childhood Epidemics - The Four A's   November 24, 2008
This is an excellent book, full of hope and practical steps to actually CURE the 4 A's of asthma, autism, allergies, and ADHD. One of the things that immediately pleased me about the book is that Dr. Bock doesn't waste the readers's time with assigning blame, but instead gets right to the point. I think that most people who would pick up this book already know about the correlation between vaccinations and the 4 A's, so we'll take that as a given. br /The case studies Dr. Bock uses as examples are moving, but not tear-jerkers, and his narrative of his growth as an epidemiologist and development of his treatments is very interesting. He is very gracious in sharing the credit for the amazing breakthroughs he and other members of the DAN have achieved. br /The book is so useful and clearly written that I bought a copy for my kids' pediatrician, my La Leche League library, myself, and 2 for my lending library (I'm a Bradley Method birthing instructor). I've reccomended it to several people whose children suffer from these illnesses. It is such an uplifting book, detailing real successes in treating children, rather than the typical disheartened medical shrug of the shoulders that can offer nothing to cure these children.br /Even if you don't know anyone with any of the 4 A's, you'd enjoy reading this book. Even if you're not a parent, you should read it. Even if you're not trained as a scientist, you can understand it. Buy an extra copy and give it to your library or pediatrician. People need to know there's actually hope for autistic, asthmatic, allergic or ADHD kids!

5 out of 5 stars Nice Reference   November 19, 2008
As a pediatric speech-language pathologist, I found this book to be a helpful resource for professionals who work with children with autism and other developmental delays. The author explains biomedical treatments that many parents are interested in pursuing as they look for options and answers for their own children. I will recommend this book to client's parents and other professionals who are searching for additional information. br /

5 out of 5 stars Beyond my expectations   November 16, 2008
Wow, this book is amazing. I know that there is much controversy over autism, but as a mother of a child with this type of diagnosis it was wonderful to read a book that takes it from a different perspective. If the treatments used in this book work, then why argue the details. I assumed that this book would be a dry, factual book about the disorders mentioned, but it was captivating. As soon as I read a few pages I was hooked.
