5 out of 5 stars Great Tool for Developing Compassionate Communication   December 30, 2007
Mary Mackenzie's book opened my eyes to the importance of changing the way I communicate with people so that I can truly connect with them. I am working on giving up my judgments and criticisms in favor of focusing on the underlying feelings and needs. This book introduced a process through which I can grow and change and improve my relationships. I highly recommend it!

I want peace as much as the next person, and maybe more however this book missed the mark for me. I was looking for a daily meditation book but after a few weeks I just didn't get it. I know that peace begins with me. I felt it was a negitive book.

5 out of 5 stars I don't typically go for this kind of book....   October 24, 2007

I've never been one for affirmations or daily meditations, but this book is very useful if you want to change the way you communicate and move through the world, especially if you experience social stress and frustration. It's designed like a perennial calendar, you can start on today's date and keep using the book year 'round, and start again. The format is based on the idea that you begin again each day with new opportunities to make changes, and acknowledges that change is hard, requiring daily practice. The small daily reminders take the big ideas and put them into small bite size pieces that aren't overwhelming. I am reassured that I can work on one small piece at a time, and that over time adjustments will come.
