Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Did you keep a diary during your teen years? Do you have a box of loopy-cursive, never-sent notes to your crush? Or some overwrought poetry about your bleak existence? An unfinished rockopera? Well, you#8217;re not alone, and in iCringe/i, you#8217;ll find a reason to unearth your adolescent angst and have a good laugh#8212;at yourself. brbrA compilation of real teenage diary and journal entries, letters, brsongs, stories, and lists#8212;along with biting commentary, background, and self-examination from the now so-called grown-ups who wrote them#8212;iCringe/i offers a voyeuristic glimpse at the roller coaster of youth in all of its navel-gazing, soul-searching, social-skewering glory.brbrbrCringe -worthy excerpts includebrbrReally bad poetry:brI lumber like the sad clown withbrthe hope that my performancebrmight make you smile.brYet I am a flickering star overbra cloudy sky.brbrBlush-inducing pep talks:brOK. It#8217;s the end of February. No morebrkidding around! You have to go outbrwith someone! You haven#8217;t gone outbrwith someone since the summer!brAt least fool around with someone!brCome on! You#8217;ve got it in ya!brbrQuestionable motivations:brMy mom is madly in love withbrher boyfriend. . . . Cool! He#8217;s so richbr. . . I could get a lot out of this#8212;brvacations, a car#8212;if he buys my mombrone + she gives me hers#8212;psyche!brbrAnd rages against the world at large:brI am living in a dream world.brWishes are a bunch of crap.brThey never come true so what#8217;sbrthe use of even wasting yourbrtime hoping they#8217;ll come truebrwhen they don#8217;t?brbrInspired by the New York#8211;based reading series of the same name, iCringe/i will help you realize that being a grown-up isn#8217;t all that terrible. At least you don#8217;t have to worry about who#8217;s going to be at the mall anymore.

2 out of 5 stars Funny - but reminds me too much of a similar book, Mortified   October 26, 2008

Funny concept - but really too similar to "Mortified" which came out a few years ago. Same concept.

I laugh out loud when I ready this book! And I feel like I'm doing something wrong by reading all these journal entries; such fun!br /The entries make me remember all those embarrassing moments in middle school and high school which I was not brave enough to record much less share with millions of people. Kudos to Sarah Brown for pulling all this together!

A treat for the eyes and soul. Heart rendering confessions, crisp commentary, and superlative graphic reproduction. Should be in every household. If purchased in pairs and viewed simultaneously, provides amazing three dimensional effect - an objective observer
