As with other Complete Idiot guides, you'll probably want to turn this one backwards in your bookcase, or at least get a book cover for it. But get past the silly title and you'll find a plethora of facts, tips, and tricks on topics including sexual response, masturbation, foreplay, afterplay, oral sex, fantasy, sex toys, sexual preference, cross-dressing, and "The Big Om": tantric sex. p The margin notes liberally decorating the book are worth a hearty chuckle. The "Sextistics" are particularly fun and eye-opening. Some examples: only 9 percent of people surveyed believe sex appeal is innate; the rest feel it can be acquired!; about 7 percent of women have never climaxed; the majority of male crossdressers are married with children; and, according to the Hite Report, nearly 60 percent of men ages 61 to 75 said their desire for sex remained steady or increased with age, Viagra or no.p Locker, a sex educator and WCBS-TV relationship correspondent, has been a sex educator for more than a decade. Add into your library December 27, 2008 I added this short but pleasing little number to my library of sexual manuals that I purchased to spice up my 10 year old marriage. I found it informative and entertaining and especially fun to read! really disappointing December 19, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful I bought this book for $12.94 from Amazon in December 08. It wasn't worth the money and I would not recommend it. The books fails to address the subject of sex in a mature way. It has lots of side jokes and looks as though the author tried very hard to make the book "cool" (which could be expected of the Complete Idiot's series). The seemingly "cool" style really distracts the reader from the subject at hand and the sort of seriousness and maturity that should accompany it. br /I also ordered Sex Bible for Women: The Complete Guide to Understanding Your Body, Being a Great Lover, and Getting the Pleasure You Want ($19.80) at the same time and the two books cannot compare. Whereas The Complete Idiot's Guide was an utter waste of money, The Sex Bible for Women actually proved educational and written in a mature, appropriate tone.
