Product Description
Wicked is not just a musical, it is a phenomenon. Every week 15,000 people pack New York+s Gershwin Theatre to see the show. The most successful musical on Broadway in 2004, Wicked is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire. It tells the story of Elphaba, the headstrong Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the good witch, growing up in the Land of Oz. The show has cast a spell on fans, many of whom return for second and third viewings. In 2005, the show begins an extensive tour across the United States and Canada, hitting major cities such as Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and many more. This beautifully packaged, whimsical keepsake is designed to resemble the Grimmerie, an ancient book of spells that Elphaba uses in the show. Wicked: The Grimmerie offers fans a behind-the-curtains peek at the musical, profiles of the cast and creative team, and inside stories, with full-color photographs throughout. Some of the irresistible special features include an -Ozian+ glossary, spells, an illustrated family tree, and a step-by-step look at how Elphaba gets green before each show-everything fans need to relive the Broadway experience day after day.

5 out of 5 stars The Wicked play in a book form   January 6, 2009
It's great for anyone who loved the magic of the play. It has all the information about how the Broadway original was created. It is a spoiler for those people who haven't seen the play though. It has amazing pictures from the original Broadway production. Plus lyrics from the songs and dialogue from the acts. Plus extras. Everything all in one book.

5 out of 5 stars An inside look at WICKED   December 22, 2008
Awesome to say the least!! If you're a huge fan of the Musical you will love this. br /An in depth look at how the world of OZ is created.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for!   December 9, 2008
I purchased this book as a holiday gift for my daughter. It will be accompanied by a ticket to go see the Chicago production of Wicked before it closes this January. The book is filled with beautiful photos and behind the scenes information. I am sure that purist who are in love with the original cast may be disappointed that it isn't exclusively about that cast. The book is well made, intentionally weathered, and was more than I was hoping for. I am sure my 12 year old will pour over it for years to come and relive the magic of seeing the actual performance. I'm delighted!

5 out of 5 stars Wick, The Grimmerie   November 19, 2008

4 out of 5 stars A must-have for Wicked fans!   November 7, 2008
After seeing this musical I HAD to have this book, but there was NO WAY I was going to pay $50 for it on the website or at the show. I was SO happy to find it at this price on Amazon. This is great book for any Wicked fan. The color photos and inside info is wonderfully interesting and the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I wanted to know more! A must have for Wicked fans!
