Product Description
Experience the thrill of flight combat using the motion sensitive feature of the Playstation3 controller. Whether it's a steep attacking dive or tight dog- fighting turn, the aircraft will intuitively respond to hand movements and you'll feel more like a real fighter pilot than ever before. From the Battle of Britain, through the dramatic air combat of Pearl Harbor, and all the way back to Europe, your pilot skills will create WWII history. Dominate the skies of Western Europe and the Pacific and bring your squadron of Blazing Angels back alive. Authentic WWII atmosphere. Fly low over Germany's industrial terrain for a bombing raid, strafe the islands of the Pacific, or emerge from the cloud cover over London and engage the enemy. The environment is so real you'll feel like you're the pilot in a famous WWII movie Planes are easy to handle and fun to fly. No need to attend the Air Force Academy to pilot these planes; players can jump right into air combat action without extensive tutorials

5 out of 5 stars One of the best games on Wii   December 7, 2008

This is one of my favorite games for the Nintendo Wii. I would describe it as an 'arcade' style flight simulator, meaning that it's not very realistic. For example, you have unlimited ammo, repairable damage, and can fly in pretty unrealistic attitudes before you stall. Some of the missions involve pretty challenging and unbalance scenarios with time limits, as many arcade style games do. However, any 'unrealistic' qualities of this game are far outweighed by the nice graphics, smooth game play and control style, and high level of excitement. It also has a nice story line that follows the progression of conflict during WWII. The game involves both the Pacific and European theatres. br /br /For the most part, the airplanes in the game are modeled and balance very well. I am very pleased with the number and variety of planes they put in this game. Not only are allied planes flyable, but so are axis planes including German and Japanese planes. The game has you flying a variety of roles, including fighter-interceptor, dog fighting, ground support, bombing and dive bombing runs, torpedo runs, and even heavy bombing runs. The graphics are great, and I love how they've included tracer fire, damage effects, and even flames shooting out of the exhaust. There are also a satisfying number of levels to play, so you don't feel like you beat the game in just a few days.br /br /In addition to it's great single player campaign mode, there are two mini-campaign modes and a multi-player mode. I haven't played the multi-player mode so I can't say much about it. The mini-campaign modes don't have any story, and are just arcade style game play.br /br /Bottom line: If you like WWII style airplanes and air combat simulators, this is a great game and a must buy for the Wii.

5 out of 5 stars BEST AIRPLANE GAME EVER!   November 2, 2008
This is as good as it gets for airplane flying. It takes through several missions during the WWII and for each level you complete you unlock an airplane.

4 out of 5 stars He loves it   September 13, 2008
Bought this for my beau (he LOVES flying games) and he played for hours. He said he had this game for another console and this version is far better. Great game for the price!

The graphics are o.k and at times could better. The controls take some time to get use to. I crash on ever level due to the controls. Even through the controls are hard they are fun. I like shoot dowm planes.

4 out of 5 stars Defnitely more fun on Wii than on Xbox   July 16, 2008

I had the XBOX360 version.. and now the Wii version. br /Instead of using a gamepad, the wii version is more fun. br /br /But indeed, this is a tough game to play.
