I have recently had ankle surgery and needed something...didn't know what exactly but knew that i wanted some protection. I have a couple of friends that wear active ankle, older version, while rock climbing. So I decided to purchase the newer VOLT. I do like it, think it's a great product. Feels very stable. My only complaint, with such a well engineered product, why put a flimsy, weak, cheap piece of foam. It would be ok if the foam pad was cut to fit the VOLT base, but it overhangs and it has glue all along the bottom of the foam pad giving it a cheap and flimsy look. It seems as if it was an overlooked detail. If i didn't already know these things work well from having seen friends use them, i would have returned it.

My girlfriend recently suffered a Class 3 ankle sprain while playing volleyball and this was the perfect solution to get her back on her feet after rehab.

For added comfort, stick the insole of your shoes on top of the foot pad.
