3 out of 5 stars works for side but nor for back   November 7, 2009
Philip M
The firms sides of the pillow are good for side sleepers - most side sleepers sleep on pillows that are too low and dont provide enough support, but I don't see why there has to be anything sticking into your neck when you sleep on your back. Seems to me the proper position for that is NO pillow. Cut out the wedge n the middle and it might be 5 star

1 out of 5 stars The worst customer service and a horrible side sleep pillow   November 1, 2009
Karthick Sriraman (san francisco, ca)
First let me review the pillow. The pillow is sold to provide good support for back as well as side sleepers. Although thihs might hold true for back sleepers, it is definelty not a good side sleep pillow. I used thsi pillow for few nights and was kept awake all night due to the pain ti caused I wanted to break in the pillow and bared the pain for couple of weeks but still didnt get better.

Now as far as the customer service, I tried contacting them and asking them not for a refund but atleast an exchange to try one of thier other pillows. The response i got was "we are not sorry about this because our policy does not permit refunds" I never wanted them to be sorry except provide me an option if avaible! The customer service was very rude.

I would strongly recommend against trying out this pillow if you are a side sleeper. Also keep in mind the horrible and rude customer service if you ever need it.

5 out of 5 stars Sleeping on a Cloud   August 28, 2009

My husband and I have been using Tri-Core pillows for the past 14 years and love them. I find that the Firm Support pillow #200 is the best for a good night's rest. If you are a side sleeper, it doesn't get any better then this. The support I
get to my neck and shoulders is great. I don't wake up with kinks, sore muscles or headaches anymore. We take our pillows
with us when ever we travel. Once you get use to this pillow, you won't want anything else.

Thank you for a good night's rest!

4 out of 5 stars Great neck support   August 26, 2009

Purchased the pillow last week, arrived yesterday as promised by Amazon. I thought the $33 price w/free super saver shipping was a good value vs. $49 retail at Tri-Core's website. My chiropractor, who recommended this pillow, was selling the smaller petite version for $49. Thank you Amazon!

After just one night of sleep, I am happy to say that I slept much better than I normally do. It's hard to say if that's because of the pillow, obviously too early to draw any conclusions but am optimistic and happy so far. One thing I noticed was how stationary I slept, I did not toss and turn like I usually do, and my neck, which is often stiff, felt great this morning. I also slept on my back for part of the night, which my chiropractor recommends for better alignment and reduction of stress on the neck/back. I typically sleep on my side or stomach because I don't find back sleeping comfortable; however, I felt much more comfortable on my back with the Tri-Core pillow. Another thing I noticed was that I only had to use this pillow. Normally, I would sleep with two and sometimes three pillows to get comfortable, mostly to get the neck support I needed. That method would work for an hour or two, but the pillows would end up all over the place (because of tossing and turning) and I would often wake up with a stiff neck (and not very well rested).

The "standard" model is firm like other reviewers have noted. I have slept on more comfortable feeling pillows but I didn't buy this to be plush comfortable, I bought this for proper neck support (which this pillow definitely provides). Personally, I didn't have a problem with the firmness since I need the support for my neck. I thought the pillow worked fine for side sleeping, but you need to use the sides of the pillow for that, not the hollowed-out center (which is designed for back sleeping). Sounds like some of the reviewers who commented negatively about the pillow and side sleeping were not using the pillow correctly, the instructions were pretty clear that the center is only used for back sleeping. Also note that there are two sides to pillow with different widths and levels of support, again this noted on the instructions. I believe one of the reviewers was a chiropractor and noted this as well, which gives you options to get comfortable. I agree it may take a few nights to adjust, this pillow feels different than anything I have used before.

Good luck with your search for that right pillow, as a chronic insomniac I have looked long and hard for the right one. I pretty much gave up until the recommendation from my chiropractor to buy the Tri-Core. I definitely recommend this Tri-Core pillow for those looking for better neck support and for those who need help staying in optimal sleeping position (back or side vs. stomach).

5 out of 5 stars Love It   April 30, 2009
Belle (Boston, MA)
I purchased this pillow to help with neck and shoulder tension that was leading to headaches. I have found it to be a great help and didn't have any trouble adjusting to the shape of it. I can sleep on both my back and on my side with no problem. I love it!
