Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Product!!   August 24, 2008
This is one of the best products I learned about as a mom. My sister in laws told me about it. It really did help me while nursing both my kids. But it also can heal just about anything. I also used it for diaper rashes, chapped lips, cuts and scrapes. It is wonderful.

5 out of 5 stars A necessity!   July 11, 2005

Lansinoh lanolin is a necessity for nursing mothers!! I brought some to the hospital with me and used it constantly while there as well as at home. I think it really helped with chafing and cracking. Be forewarned though--it does stain! Make sure you use nursing pads to protect your clothing or else your nursing bras will have faint yellow stains on them.br /br /I've also used this on my daughter's bottom when it was red and chafed looking--it soothed her instantly.

5 out of 5 stars The best, in my opinion   April 16, 2005

I was totally ignorant about nursing, and the hospital in which my baby was born didn't provide much help either. So, my friend stopped by with a tube of this stuff and it totally saved the whole nursing experience for me. There's really nothing better than this stuff and I VERY HIGHLY recommend it. It promotes healing but also isn't hurtful to your baby. That pain can be quite intense at times and this lanolin just soothes it right away. You'll only need about one tube of it since the pain doesn't last very long, just about a month, and you'll have some left over. You can then use it on your dry hands from washing them a zillion times a day. It's fantastic for that! My hands were just peeling from all the hand washing in the winter and this stuff just saved the day. Plus, I didn't feel like I'd wasted it either. Great stuff! And a wonderful shower gift - especially for new mothers who are as clueless as I was!

4 out of 5 stars Helped me through the first month of breastfeeding   March 1, 2005

Breatfeeding can be painful for new mothers, as I found out. Lansinoh lanolin helps sooth and mosturize my nipples. I also tried samples of Purelan by Medela and Palmer's Cocoa Butter, but Lansinoh lanolin was best. My baby would not latch on when I used Purelan. The Palmer's product was the only one that actually felt soothing to my painful nipples, but I've heard and read that since babies ingest these products, only pure lanolin should be used. I had some dry skin that would gunk up on my baby's lips and lanolin stopped this from happening by mosturizing. Therefore, I suggest using it before your baby is born. The pain from breastfeeding subsides within a month, so one tube of these is more than you need.
