i needed to buy this lamp dimmer after my first baby was born. use this a lot for midnight feedings and diaper changing. a must have for new parents.

Lutron Electric Plug-in Dimmer with Night light July 7, 2008
I am very pleased with the product,it is perfect for the reason I bought the dimmer.I can uwe it to dim the bedroom light and turn it off when I get in bed.I would recomend it for anyone who needs a dimmer for a plug in light and it is very easy to turn off.

After I bought the first one for the living room, I bought more, for the bedroom. You don't have to get up or stretch to change the brightness. They are perfect for lamps that are not close to you. Also dimming lamps saves electricity. I wouldn't call the red light a night "light" as such, but having the little red light makes the control easy to find in the dark.
