Is it worth it? November 5, 2008
I bought 3 of these batteries last year (literally a year ago) to replace the batteries for the set of phones I purchased at Costco several years ago. The batteries in the phones lasted a few years (approximately 3) before the batteries started dying. Amazon's price for the replacements were truly competitive, but these batteries started dying out a month ago. The batteries were great while they lasted, but the debate is, is it worth it to spend another $30 on replacements or is it better to just spring for a new phone set for double the price?

Make Phone Like New August 23, 2008

I have older Uniden phones which I got at Costco many years ago and one day I noticed that they wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few hours off the charger so I got new replacement batteries and the phones are like new. For about $30 I have great phones and it would have cost at least double that for new ones plus replacing batteries is probably much better for the environment. We live in a throw-away society and to the extent that I can change it I will. These batteries fit perfectly. Highly recommended.

I purchased this battery to replace a Uniden OEM battery which would no longer hold a charge. This battery fits perfectly in my cordless phone and works well.

A little pun to start out but some advice on this battery.First only buy from amazon and link it up with somethimg else to get free shipping.I looked at a couple of stores and Amazon is the cheapest from a major retailer.Also if you have a phone with an extra base or 2 be aware you could find a recording machine with an extra base at a warehouse club for about twice the cost of 2 batteries.So if you phone is 5 years old and the batteries are dying you are better off getting the next genaration of phones with an warranty then extending the life of an old phone.Buying one or 2 replacement batteries for an old system with recording machine is really the only situation in which it makes sense to buy replacement batteries.If you are buying 3 or 4 batteries it is better to get new phones.I have posted a picture of the back of the battery pack but this will fit any uniden phone that uses the BT-446 model of battery.br /
