Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
An extraordinary, powerful connection exists between feeling and feeding that, if damaged, may lead to one relying on food for emotional support, rather than seeking authentic happiness. This unique workbook takes on the seven emotions that plague problem eaters — guilt, shame, helplessness, anxiety, disappointment, confusion, and loneliness — and shows readers how to embrace and learn from their feelings. Written with honesty and humor, the book explains how to identify and label a specific emotion, the function of that emotion, and why the emotion drives food and eating problems. Each chapter has two sets of exercises: experiential exercises that relate to emotions and eating, and questionnaires that provoke thinking about and understanding feelings and their purpose. Supplemental pages help readers identify emotions and chart emotional development. The final part of the workbook focuses on strategies for disconnecting feeling from food, discovering emotional triggers, and using one’s feelings to get what one wants out of life.

3 out of 5 stars O N E....M O R E.....F E E L I N G.........   October 23, 2009

This looks to be a great book -- full of information, self-tests,
and facts revealed and explored. Unfortunately, one more feeling,
(inadequacy), must be added to the list....because THE PRINT SIZE IS MUCH TOO s m a l l FOR MOST PEOPLE TO READ! Squinting is NOT a pre-requisite to losing weight....but it could very well lead to gaining more! Bigger print, (and yes, a few more pages because of this), please. And perhaps a better-grade paper, as well!

Has a lot of good information. Can really change your life but as mentioned before, not an overnight fix.

I know, it's a "work"book, but man, there was so much to do!! It was overwhelming for me. This might work really well-I don't know because I returned the book-but be prepared to really make a commitment to this.

5 out of 5 stars finally, the answers I have been looking for   August 11, 2009

I would highly recommend this workbook. I could not connect the dots, I knew how to diet, I knew what I should eat but why I was bent on self destruction and why I was not able to control my eating I could not understand. This workbook helped me connect the emotions I was experiencing with the need to overeat. It helped me to gain control back and reduce my dependence on food. I can not say enough. If you have a diagnosed eating disorder, you probably need to seek a good eating disorder councelor but this book is a wonderful tool to assist you. It helped me to control my emotional eating and put me in the right direction.

4 out of 5 stars Check This Great Book Out - Food & Feelings   August 8, 2009

This is a great book to help you stretch your mind into new pathways and to learn about feelings which are the core of eating problems. Any book that invites you to pick it up again and again because you want to feel better about your eating is a true gift to readers. The Food & Feelings Workbook is an excellent companion to the book, Not Your Mother's Diet available only on amazon. And I encourage you to move past any feelings of discouragement and do something wonderful for you self esteem right now. Not Your Mother's Diet: The CURE for your EATING ISSUES
