Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection can cause severe diseases with significant morbidity and morality in immunocompromised patients, such as bone marrow or solid-organ transplant recipients and AIDS patients. This book provides insight into CMV-related immunopathology, discusses methods of CMV diagnosis and anti-CMV therapy, and proposes antiviral treatment strategies. It contains contributions by leading scientists and clinicians in the field of CMV, who participated in the First International Round Table Consensus Meeting held in Frankfurt in August 1997. Subjects under discussion include CMV pathogenesis in immunocompromised patients, novel aspects of anti-CMV therapy and strategies in viral diagnosis.

Customer Reviews:
4 out of 5 stars cmv infection   September 27, 2000
This is a great book and a collection of scientific proceedings regarding 'state of the art' international insights in CMV-infection pathophysiology.

It concerns CMV-mediated immunomodulation with respect to pathogenesis in transplanted and otherwise immunocompromised patients. It also discussess novel strategies in anti-CMV therapy and viral diagnosis.

It is a well written, easy to comprehend, book for the professional.
