4 out of 5 stars Great Book!   May 26, 2009
MUA
This book is a great book to understanding makeup artistry! It goes over every aspect of being a professional in the beauty and makeup industry. It does go into some scientific detail but explains the need for the information in a practical way. A very helpful book and highly recommended.

This book is very technical, and many of the techniques are old - from the 80's and 90's. I recommend Laura Mercier's book instead.

4 out of 5 stars Makeup Artists need this book   October 21, 2002

This is a great book for makeup artists, probably not great for the makeup junkie consumer. I learned more in this book then I have in all of the makeup classes I have taken over the years. It is a study book more then a read for fun book, every artist needs to read it.

4 out of 5 stars Good reference material.   April 1, 2000

Pretty thorough coverage of modern makeup. It doesn't call out the new Hollywood looks in particular, the underlying technique is all there.
