Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars incredibly on target, most helpful book forall victims   August 19, 1999
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

Carlton covers a wide range of topics from identification of victims, the history of violence and the pahtology of both the victim and the abuser.Very helpful concrete steps for the victim to use.Dreamwork, stress reduction and clear concise guidlines for takeing back control of one's life.Chapter in book on the profile of the victim as well as the abuser was insightful as well as acutely accurate. At times the words and sentances seemed to be taken verbatim from my mind. Especially related to the segment of living with a perfectionist and the control issues therin. For additional help the author very thoughtfully includes an indepth Bibliography. A definate read for all those who want to help themsemselves, and need a guide of how to get there.
