Product Description
bbigHave you ever looked at someone and thought:PblockquoteHe looks honest.PShe seems friendly.PHe doesn't look like a serial killer./blockquotePAre you always right? /big/bPPLooks can be deceiving, but handwriting never lies. Handwriting profiling is an amazingly accurate tool for assessing how people think, feel, and act. In fact, handwriting profiling is so accurate that the FBI, the CIA, and the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad use it to build detailed psychological profiles of some of the world's most dangerous individuals. And thousands of major corporations use handwriting profiling to help them make the right hiring decisions. PHandwriting expert Michelle Dresbold -- the only civilian to be invited to the United States Secret Service's Advanced Document Examination training program -- draws on her extensive experience helping law enforcement agencies around the country on cases involving kidnapping, arson, forgery, murder, embezzlement, and stalking to take us inside the mysterious world of crossed t's and dotted i's. PIn ISex, Lies, and Handwriting,/i Dresbold explains how a single sentence can provide insight into a person's background, psychology, and behavior. Throughout the book, Dresbold explores the handwriting of sly politicians, convicted criminals, notorious killers, suspected cheats, and ordinary people who've written to Dresbold's "The Handwriting Doctor" column for help. She shows you how to identify the signs of a dirty rotten scoundrel and a lying, cheating, backstabbing lover. And she introduces you to some of the most dangerous traits in handwriting, including weapon-shaped letters, "shark's teeth," "club strokes," and "felon's claws." (When you see these traits in someone's script, she says, "it's time to stop reading and start running!")PDresbold also explains how criminals are tracked through handwritten clues and what spouses, friends, or employees might be hiding in their script.PFinally, Dresbold re-examines the handwriting evidence in several notorious unsolved cases. She uncovers fascinating clues that reveal the secret side of Lizzie Borden, acquitted of the ax murder of her parents in 1893's "trial of the century." Dresbold also reveals astonishing details about the author of the JonBenEt Ramsey ransom note, and she presents startling new evidence that exposes the real Jack the Ripper (contrary to popular theories, he wasn't a prince or a painter after all). PISex, Lies, and Handwriting/i will have you paying a bit more attention to your -- and everyone else's -- penmanship.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing book   January 7, 2009

I first heard about this book while listening to the author interviewed on the Opie and Anthony XM show. The interview was a must listen and the book is a must read.br /br /This book needs to be read twice. The first time you get the general idea of how to analyze handwriting and by the second reading, you'll become very aware of others' writing to the point where you start to watch how your own writing looks. I find myself writing very carefully now!br /br /Great read, excellent examples of historical figures' handwriting and lots of self-quizzes about your own writing habits. This is a fun book.br /br /

5 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE MOST FUN BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ!   December 17, 2008

I do not know how true the book's conclusions are, but, it is so very fun to read! I loved the book. Do buy It! I was writing ahead of the author to see how closely she saw my own character! She is very good at my personality.

5 out of 5 stars Fascinating book   November 23, 2008

I heard about this book on the "Opie and Anthony" radio po-gram on Sirius XM satellite radio. They interviewed the author and the book sounded interesting. It is an amazing read. I instantly began looking at handwriting differently and her descriptions about what to look for are dead on. Michelle Desbold writes about famous crime cases as well adding to the fascinating skill of handwriting analysis.br /br /I am currently re-reading the book and taking notes about handwriting analysis. br /br /A must read for anybody interested in criminal justice, law, etc.br /

5 out of 5 stars Great! Must Buy.   November 18, 2008
Bought for my husband, I read instead. Very interesting! I'm hooked. Now I want to see everyones writing that I come across. This is an interactive book so you really feel like you are learning something. Also, editors notes are easy to understand.

5 out of 5 stars Sex, Lies and Handwriting can change your life.   November 11, 2008

"Sex, Lies and Handwriting" can change your life.br /br /Have you ever wonder what people, including yourself, are all about? If so, you've got to read this book. Anyone interested in the inner workings of the human mind will find "Sex, Lies and Handwriting" enlightening. As a scientist I tend to be skeptical about subjects like this however, I have read this book from cover to cover and can't get enough. The information is not just fascinating and informative, but the author, Michelle Dresbold, has a wry sense of humor that makes the book a fun and entebr /br /This book is definitely worthwhile reading. I highly recommend it. br /br /Dovbr /
