This completely updated third edition guides readers through the art of successful aging. Leading aging expert Susan Krauss Whitbourne focuses on how individuals can take an active role in their aging processes and make it a rewarding developmental period, filled with vitality and creativity. Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Learning to Understand the Aging Environment   July 12, 2001
1 out of 3 found this review helpful

This text provides detailed information on what happens as we age. It's a little scary - but it certainly gives us insight and skills into working most effectively with the changes caused by aging. It helped me personally to deal better with my Mom, by altering my speech patterns and communication of events. It also lets you see the importance of all the devices out there to assist the elderly - and in turn, encourage the use of these tools.
