Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Never responded   July 31, 2008
I had not recieved the book when I should have and when I emailed to find out the status I sent 4 emails and no one ever responded. I did get an empty envelope with no book and no packing slip included.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding Historical Overview of Social Work   November 5, 2002
The authors, Carolyn Tice and Kathleen Perkins, have uniquely organized key events in social work history in terms of analyzing and shaping policy from a strengths perspective. This perspective provides a useful organizing framework for teaching concepts germane to social policy action. The content is beautifully infused with poems (such as excerpts from Maya Angelou) and narratives from clients and oppressed populations. This book provides an excellent adjunct to a course on social welfare or policy.
