Product Description
In the cold of winter, Pioneer Square's homeless are being butchered, and zombies have been seen roaming the streets of the underground city buried beneath modern Seattle. Greywalker H arper Blaine is asked to investigate by her friend Quinton, who fears he may be implicated in the deaths. They soon discover that someone has unleashed a monster of ancient legend- and H arper must deal with both the living and the dead to find the creature and put a stop to it...unless it stops her first.

5 out of 5 stars Underground   January 31, 2010
Pamela A. Morarre (Simi Valley, Ca.)
I really enjoyed the third entry in the Greywalker series. It deepened the character and brought Quentin back for a major role. Well worth reading if you enjoy Urban Fantasy, but I recommend reading books one and two first.

4 out of 5 stars Supernatural fantasy, with strong historical research behind it   December 6, 2009
Goddess (Portland)
This is around the third in a series of the Grey Walker - the story is still fresh, original, and the level of real historical detail on Seattle and Washington's native tribes mines a little known history, giving the story even more original color, you can almost feel and taste Seattle in these stories.

On top of that it is part of the popular supernatural detective/fantasy genre with a very strong female lead character.

4 out of 5 stars More like it!   November 16, 2009
R. Beyler (Chicago, IL)
Harper Blaine is back in an unusual and compelling mystery Underground, that takes Harper on a new case for an old friend that runs a gauntlet of action and circumstances usually seen on The X-Files. Between pagan gods, Prohibition and government conspiracies, the adventure in this installment is well conceived and delivered with Kat Richardson's trademark "telling details" that get a reaction from the reader every time. An aspect of Richardson's writing that I enjoy is her love for Seattle, and in Underground, she takes us through a historic lens of Seattle that touches on less known history as well as a nod to the more modern grunge era and in so doing, provides the reader with a tangible contextual feeling for the area. In Underground, we also see a welcome return to the development of the series as a whole as we revisit supporting characters and their lives as they become further entwined with Harper's adventures and we start to see the effects of earlier events on Harper and her friends in unexpected ways.

I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading the next installment in the series.

4 out of 5 stars More Seattle Supernatural Mystery Fun   October 23, 2009
David C. Hill (Centennial, CO USA)
This "Graywalker" book delves even deeper into Seattle's past, with zombies, Indian curses, and a strange creature lurking in the ancient city-beneath-the-city. She also makes her detective protagonist, Harper Blaine, and the supporting cast richer and deeper. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

5 out of 5 stars Underground book 3 review   September 30, 2009
J. McGillis (Alma, MI United States)
another hit! it was about time for her and quinton!!! ever since the first book i've been hoping they would be together! i also thought there was something more mysterious about him other than just being on the run from the government...that was kind of disappointing and refreshing at the same time. it isn't often anymore that you read a book with vampires and not have werewolves in it too!
