Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Human Biology for Social Workers Leon Ginsberg, University of South Carolina Larry Nackerud, University of Georgia Christopher Larrison, University of Georgia Until now there has been no text about human biology that is designed specifically for social work students and practitioners. This book was written and published to fill that gap. Standard biology texts explain the science, but fall short of applying biology to social work. This book attempts to do both-to cover the basics of human biology and to show why and how it is important to those who are pursuing social work careers. "I think the writing style is outstanding and flows well from one topic to the next. I would require this text as a supplement along with my current HBSE text." Lynn Adkins, University of Pittsburgh "This text gives good information in reader-friendly language and examples. Bottom line, we want and need social workers to understand and practically apply biological information in their assessments and interventions." Scarlett A. Benjamin, Keuka College

3 out of 5 stars Amazon is the place for college books at a fair price   October 13, 2009

The timing of this product took a little longer then anticipated but I am glad it arrived safely at my house.
This book isn't the best book but there are few books that include biology and pertain to the social work aspect of things. Overall Amazon has a lot of fair prices for used and new college books.

5 out of 5 stars a much needed contribution to the field   March 27, 2005

Human Biology for Social Workers nicely fits CSWE's mandate to include biological content in the human behavior courses. I use this book for reference quite a bit. It is thorough and doesn't shirk from presenting controversy. The social work perspective means this book is tailored for the needs of emerging professionals.
