Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In this honest, sympathetic book, marital and family therapist Robert L. Barker offers real help for men and women suffering the emotional costs of a jealous partner's suspicion and rage. Based on his extensive work with troubled couples, "The Green-Eyed Marriage" answers these and many other questions about pathological jealousy and its causes and offers practical techniques to minimize jealous confrontations and control them.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars If you mate is obsessively jealous...   December 5, 2004
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

...buy this book. I was at the receiving end of classical Othello Syndrome (in which your partner falsely insists on your infidelity) and I looked at plenty of books. THIS is the best. You can not stop someone else's jealousy unless the other person can recognize the problem; and no book can help in you in that. However, this book will help you understand what is going on, why the world has turned upside down.

1/3 of men in alcohol abuse treatment programs suffer from delusional jealousy. One does not necessarily cause the other, but there is a high correlation. Substance abuse and jealousy are sometimes two manifestations of compulsive behavior. If your partner has problems with substance abuse I highly recommend reading A. J. Twerski's "Addictive Thinking" and attending Al-Anon metings.

From the book jacket:

"Conveying sound, clinically based information about the nature and characteristics of pathological jealousy, Dr. Barker offers the victimized partner specific self-help strategies, both short and long-term, that can lead to healthier relations..."

Contents of this book are:

What is jealousy?
The causes of jealousy
Unhealthy jealous relationships
Helping one's jealous partner
Self-defense strategies
Protecting children from jealous parents
Ending jealous relationships
How and where to get help
10 Steps for surviving jealous relationships

This book is thoroughly researched and based on clinical research.
