5 out of 5 stars Excellent suggestions for reviving exhausted adrenals   November 17, 2009
S.L. Munsinger (Portland, OR)
I believe that a prior reviewer may have confused the author, James Wilson with another doctor, Denis Wilson, who does sell adrenal supplements. Denis Wilson is the author of "Wilson's Temperature Syndrome" which is a treatment for restoring the thyroid to normal functioning using cycles of graduating doses of T3. I have used Denis Wilson's supplements and found them to be effective over long periods of time. Healing one's adrenals takes patience, dedication, and time.

This book is one of the best pieces of literature for describing how people run their adrenals down and how to prevent that from happening. The suggestions given for overcoming adrenal exhaustion are as good as far as they go.

If your adrenals are really shot, you may have to take a prescription medicine called Cortef in order to restore them to normal functioning. Cortef consists of small physiologic doses of hydrocortisone which is taken several times a day for a total of no more than 20 mg a day. This is less than the adrenals would normally produce in the form of cortisol. The Cortef allows the adrenals to rest and heal. Hopefully, you can wean yourself off of the Cortef after a few months or perhaps years. To get this treatment you will need to find a wholistic Physician. Traditional doctors are too close-minded. This treatment was originated by William McK. Jefferies, M.D. His book is "Safe Uses of Cortisol."

This book draws attention to the fact that wrong eating habits and faulty lifestyle will damage your adrenals. The suggestions for adrenal improvement are invaluable. I highly recommend it.

Got the book not what its cracked up to be...My doctor recommended it I am taking it to their office and sharing it. There is some good vitamin info. in this publication but mostly a very dull read! Even though I was very interested in the subject matter. I wouldnt get it again if I knew what I now Know!!
dont buy is my recommendation!

5 out of 5 stars So glad I stumbled upon this book!   November 1, 2009
A reader (New York, NY)
I wish I read this book many years ago. I was suffering from chronic fatigue and felt overwhelmed almost 24-7. It wasn't easy to make all the dietary changes and taking all the supplements that the author suggests, but I gradually did it and it truly changed my life. I feel SO MUCH better.
I also highly recommend reading the book The Mood Cure by Julia Ross! It also talks about fatigue as well as other conditions. I combine the recommendations of both books. I wish more physicians read these two books...

5 out of 5 stars Easy entertaining read for a serious subject!   September 21, 2009
Anne-laure Michelis
I was telling my friend that I just could not deal with stress anymore, that I felt overwhelmed at any little problem that would not even had bothered me before. She simply said by "adrenal fatigue". I did and what a great book it is. I thought I was getting old, grumpy, that I could not face life anymore, that I was exhausted all the time! Thanks to this very clear and complete book I now know that I am not going crazy, I just have adrenal fatigue!! This book gives a real clear and simple way to recover from it! Thank you so much James Wilson!!! Adrenal fatigue is a horrible place to be but you are giving us the light at the end of the tunnel! This book explains very clearly in plain english what is wrong with the body and how to recover from it. I highly recommend it to anyone who even has a doubt about having adrenal fatigue! It is a savior!

I have been on a journey to learn about my body and its hormones and this book has been a critical link to gaining understanding. It is a must read for everyone.
