5 out of 5 stars Excatly What She Needed   August 6, 2009

My sister was diagnosed with Leukemia on July 30th, 2009. Slated for a 30 day hospital stay- I sought out books to keep her mind off of things. The mornings are the most difficult for her, when she wakes and realizes she has to battle yet another day. I got her this book for the mornings, hoping it would give her the spiritual muscle to get through another day.

She starts every morning reading one or two devotionals and I've noticed a marked resurgence in her attitude. She won't be 100% for a while- but I'm positive that this book was exactly what she needed.

5 out of 5 stars Extremely relevant and inspiring   July 4, 2009

I am 47 yrs old and was diagnosed with a brain tumor almost two years ago. I just found this book about a month ago and have appreciated every story, prayer and thought. I have found myself in most, if not all, of the moments described and have come to many of the same places as all of these women. My one regret is that I didn't discover this sooner. I will give this book to everyone who finds themselves in these circumstnces, whether they experience it themselves or through someone they love. The book is diverse, relevant, to the point and insightful.

I am a 64 year woman old in the middle of chemotherapy treatment for lymphoma. A dear friend gave me this book... he just "happened" to be walking in the woman's section of his church's bookstore and saw it there and thought of me. I have gone through the book of short but deep devotionals once and am starting again. It has been so comforting and encouraging; really speaking to my heart. There is something for me to relate to on just about each and every page. I guess you really can't know unless you've been there and I am so thankful that these many women who have "been there," chose to share their prayers and stories to encourage the rest of us. In fact, I received two of these books as gifts and am looking for the right person to give the extra copy to. Thanks to these writers and to the LORD for inspiring them and us.

I sent this book to my sister-in-law who lives hours away from me. She said the book was, "the best present so far that I have recvd...the book has been very uplifting... It is excellent, and I think you picked the most perfect one." I am getting ready to order another one so I have it available to the next person I come across who can be blessed by it.

I was given this book after my diagnosis. It helped me beyond words. I have since given this book to many others in need. I can not imagine going through cancer treatment without this book!
